The question I had, what were these influential men like as children? What was the occurrence that ripped away their fragile innocence we are all born with? The message in these works is not dark, but a gentle reminder that we all start off with the purest of naivety about the world, and as adults we must strive to keep this strength within us.

Here I am working in my atelier.
I am cutting glossy magazines to color the artwork.
These people are grouped together as a landscape of figures, the work shows the absurdity of human existence.
They are unconscious. Unconscious about themselves and about the others. They do not see the sadness or anger of the other. They do not pay attention to emotions. They do not know how to make real contact. They are put together, but they don’t know how to interact.
They do not really see. The world around them is grey, no trees, no grass, the birds are dead.
It is a big artwork 150 x 211 cm and I spent a lot of hours working at it.

This series 'Look at me' of twelve poppy, colourful, digital collages sees gods and goddesses reborn through a combination of previously produced photographs.
Aphrodite the goddess of love. This innocent child is in fact homage by the artist to her daughters, where beauty in its purest form allows us to empathise with her inquisitive gaze and childlike posture. What will her future behold? The artist has used details from photographs of her daughters to make up the features of our goddess, including her dress, which is in fact made of images of their skin.

In the series, Behind the Seen, girls are presented in exaggerated costume to emphasize femininity. The name of this series is an appropriation of the theatrical idiom, ‘behind the scene’. For the artist, this references to what is behind the mere visible and behind the façade. Employing both Pop and contemporary elements, I use embellishments of puffed sleeves, large collars and crinoline dresses to emphasise the enduring power of female. The portrait compositions take from Old Master paintings, and the enchanting girls be put down within a dreamy, playful atmosphere.
The digital collages are an assemblage of photographs of children and women to comprise a new image that embodies the diversity and complexity of humanity.
